Stars and Glory Hand Cast Miniature Spaceships

About a decade ago I wrote a science fiction novel, Wonderwall Magic A Space Opera.  To make a book cover I built a spaceship model to photograph. A couple of years ago a local gamer saw the model and got excited. He wanted to do a tabletop spaceship game and was looking for a universe to place the game in. Based on that chance encounter, I took his basic game mechanics and adapted them to the warfare described in the novels. Stars and Glory Deep Space is the resulting rule set. 

To play the game I hand designed a series of space ships. The original inspiration came from an American Civil War ironclad, the USS Choctaw. Taking certain basic features from this ship, other aspects related to spaceship performance were added. This gives the models a distinctive non modern character when compared to today's computer designed models. Later ships are variations of the original ship or have distinctive species specific design modifications.

There are currently six alien space fleets. Although each fleet has its own characteristics, all ships have certain basic attributes such as antimatter pods, broadside weapons projectors, impellers to drive the ship, and ablation screens to radiate excess heat.  Each fleet has six different sized ships rated by the number of antimatter pods per ship. There are six classes that range from two to twelve pods.

ONE ALIEN DESIGN TEMPLATE (KYRGUS)

The purpose of this listing is to fund the cost of making production molds and casting copies. If funded, the models will be individually hand cast in urethane resin and are unpainted. Since the spaceships are not computer designed and not mass produced, they will have minor irregularities and flaws in keeping with the retro design aesthetic. The bases shown in the photos are by LITKO ( 2.5" hexes with 2.5" flight pegs) and are not provided. Holes in the bottom of the castings for flight pegs are not provided.

In the game universe there are two sides, the League of Sentients and the Silence of the  Demiurge. For the League there is one basic design.

LINE DRAWINGS The numbers below the line drawings indicate the dimensions of each model ship. The first number is the length between the longest points. The second is the width at the widest point. The third is the height at the highest point (L/W/H). Here are the six classes of the basic design. 

There are also three sets that are variations of the basic League design. These can be used for either side.
