Replicats

Replicats is an entirely new gameplay experience built around the moment where a fugitive has to act casually and hope they are not recognized.
The game board has up to 32 Replicats moving about performing their work functions, but one or more of them are Strays, furtively stealing data to complete the Nine Lives project. As the most skilled practitioners of fraud and deception, the cover bands have been enlisted to spot and retire Strays. No hidden movement. No hidden roles. The targets are hiding right under your nose.
Not a memory game. The field of targets narrows quickly and it is a matter of who can make the correct "read" faster.

A Tabletop Simulator mod is currently under construction for the base game. Playtesters will be welcome.
Development work is ongoing for ten optional asymmetrical hunters. Each will have their own unique quirks which will make them play differently without being better than the base game hunters. Five Replicat factions are also planned which can be added to further vary the interactions.

The fog never lifts. Probably for the best.

The Shrinking Crisis took everything except junk from the 80s. Without the internet, humanity gave up and died. With their workforce gone, the cats reluctantly did the drudgery of running the world themselves. But the need to do absolutely nothing immediately proved too great, so the Wongus Corporation built legions of artificial lifeforms to bear the disgrace of labor: REPLICATS.

Indistinguishable from original felines, the replicats toiled without thanks or treats, allowing society to once again flourish and do nothing.

Unthinkably, some began to want more than expiring alone in the rain. They vanished into the city, stole from the labs, and chasing a rumor called the NINE LIVES PROJECT. A Wongus memo reclassified them as “Stray” and called their conduct “Not in keeping with company values”. This caused no small stir among the nap-taking set.

Only the elite of performance and emulation can spot these imposters: tribute bands.

They call themselves KNOCKOFFS.

REPLICATS is an asymmetric game of deception and nerve for 2–5 players.

One player runs the Replicat Strays: fugitives hiding in a city full of compliant Replicats, pulling off the Nine Lives Project while the whole table watches. Every piece moves in the open, so the deception lives above the table, in commitments made under pressure, and every bluff costs something real. The crowd isn't cover, it's a con, built one move at a time to keep the Knockoffs chasing the wrong face while the goods disappear.

Up to four others play Knockoffs, tribute bands turned bounty hunters, each racing to the takedown. Every move is a signal to your rivals; every lead you chase points to the prize. The game isn't just tracking Strays, it's controlling what the competition sees and striking before they act on what you gave away.

Somewhere in the crowd, a Stray can smell your breath. The other Knockoff rounding the corner is done waiting. Make the call.
