The Country Will Not Be Defended From Behind a Desk.

England, 1941. The country is divided, the old order is crumbling, and the fight for Britain has come home.

In the villages, market towns and great country estates, a different kind of resistance is taking shape. Farmers take up their shotguns, gamekeepers bring out their rifles, and the landed gentry saddle their finest hunters. They are joined by estate workers, country volunteers and men who know every hedge, lane and muddy field for miles around. They are the National Country Defence League, and they intend to defend their corner of England by whatever means necessary.

The NCDL is a fictional faction created for A Very British Civil War '41, bringing together the rural characters, eccentric personalities and unmistakable atmosphere of the English countryside. From rugged farmers and experienced gamekeepers to scarlet-coated mounted fox hunters and loyal hunting hounds, this is a force with plenty of character. Their transport and equipment are just as distinctive, featuring improvised fighting vehicles and whatever military hardware they can lay their hands on.

This Kickstarter aims to bring the NCDL to your tabletop through a collection of 28mm miniature STL files, designed for hobbyists, collectors and wargamers who enjoy something a little different. Build your own country patrols, assemble an HQ, deploy mounted hunters and their horses, and take the fight through the lanes, fields and estates of a Britain torn apart by civil war.

The campaign will offer digital miniature files. Additional stretch goals will expand the collection as the campaign progresses, bringing new characters, support options and further pieces of the NCDL's world to life.

Whether you are building a complete force, adding a few unusual characters to an existing collection, or simply love the peculiar charm of Britain's wartime countryside, the NCDL is ready to march.

Force Organisation

The National Country Defence League is organised into small, flexible sections of 10 models, combining farmers, gamekeepers, estate workers and mounted fox hunters. Each section can include up to four mounted models and one transport, allowing forces to adapt to different missions and terrain. Characters can join a section to lead from the front, or players can field a separate four-model HQ section comprising a commander, an NCO and two additional support choices. From snipers and medics to heavy weapons teams, you can build a force to suit your own style of play and defend the estate your way.

I have used generative ai in the creation on the images, banners and other marketing images. no AI was used in the creation of the stls themselves.

why did I choose ai?

I consider ai to be a tool to be used to fill the gaps, while I can sculpt using blender I cannot digitally draw and have a limited knowledge of Photoshop. so to fill the gaps for me ai was used.
