Mortaane: Trading Card Game

In Mortaane, our brand new Sci-Fi Horror TCG, the first competitor to destroy their opponents 3 spires wins. 

Designed for casual players or tournament masterminds, with 3 woven lanes of combat unique to Mortaane, depth of strategy and simplicity synergise like never before. Competitors lead ruthless horror themed Beings into battle and use a variety of means to conquer adversary.

Assets at your disposal in a game of Mortaane are:
Beings, Vectors, Veils, Statics, Husks, Corpus, Anomalies, Spires and Nodes.

These Assets offer a plethora of available tactics for you to utilize, whether it be Covert cards like Veils which can be played facedown, the high defences/unique ability of an environment/building; Statics, or whether it be by introducing an Anomaly into the battlefield to swing things in your favour.

Positional strategy collides with 7 Mortal Factions; Anima (red), Astral (blue), Ethereal (purple), Earthen (brown), Gnosis (green), Nox (black) and Phos (white).

With only the surface being scratched and mortal Assets at your disposal, hone your skills, master your strategy and stand victorious!

                                                  Mortaane

We are a startup company from Hawkes Bay New Zealand. We have been passionate about all things gaming since before there was a 2 in 2026. As a company of gamers, we aspire to make a game the player will benefit from. The first version of Mortaane was played around a decade ago, with on and off development over the years we came to the realisation we had to go all in and are excited to finally break the veil!

We are here to raise funds for initial manufacturing, brand establishment and funding for artists. These artists will create original art for all our card images, packaging and future products. There are currently over 350 unique cards in our launch instalment: Broken Veils.  

We plan to enter digital spaces and tirelessly seek a game whose players are rewarded through their skill, effort, individualism and achievements in gameplay.

Ai?: Our Logos, Official card back design, Game mechanics, physical products and all future renditions of these things are 100% human made. However, Ai has been utilized in some of our websites background images, example product art/placeholder images, and certain marketing efforts. We plan to step even further away from the use of Ai as a whole, as it has only been used to express the vision outwardly that we have inside before receiving funding to establish the company and begin manufacturing with human artists.

Face designs: We have allowed our team up until manufacturing to lock in our face designs, we believe this is one of the most important aspects of a TCG and we will be dropping updates of our face designs throughout the campaign as well as further information on the games mechanics, including testimonials from those participating in the final stages of play testing Mortaane with us.

We believe in our game, we can't wait to play it in all its glory and hope it brings as much excitement to you as it does to us. You aren't just backing a new TCG, you're backing a new world, we take lore seriously and hope to tell a distinct resonating story with every lore video/book (Chronicles) or future endeavour Mortaane embarks on. We Strive to be a premium brand that you can trust and delivers to the highest possible quality in every venture.

                                              STRETCH GOALS

A dedicated lore video will be created for each stretch goal that is achieved in addition to its rewards and will be released post campaign e.g. "Stretch goal #1 Reward Video". 

-300,000: All Base game dice sets will have a quality upgrade.

-800,000: All Charge Packs will include a custom Neoprene Mortaane game mat.

-1,500,000: All Charge Packs include an extra P'KUP Card Lifter and increase amount of holographic cards in Kickstarter order fulfilment.

-3,000,000: All Charge Pack premium dice sets will have an upgrade.

-5,000,000: We will open up submissions for backers to submit their art/card character ideas which we will then select some of the best to be featured in the final print as easter eggs for you to find for your own collections!

-7,500,000: All Charge Kits will include a graded Classified Card.
