Dragon Eclipse: The Grand Quest Core Box

Character: The emergence of the legendary, four-winged Tasandra always portends death and destruction, as no other mystling evokes so much fear. Its talons may pierce the best shield, its armor can withstand the mightiest hits, and its scream is nightmare.
Trivia: As the strongest mystling of metal, Tasandra will join forces with a tamer of truly unique skills and—most likely—dark personality.

Character: Mistrustful Twigfoxes tend to stay away from noisy and crowded places, but should anything catch their attention, a Twigfox begins an investigation. Silent and nimble, a Twigfox will follow a person of interest, looking for weaknesses and getting ready to ambush them.
Trivia: The Twigfoxes have very keen eyesight and an almost perfect memory. They are said to hate shrill sounds, but in some of them, they only trigger vindictiveness.

Character: Although its emotions are impossible to read, many claim that a Felinard is a joker, but a cruel one. In combat, the Felinard will play with its opponent, skillfully dodging all attempts at grappling, and hit them from afar. Its shrill laughter brings nightmares in the dead of the night.
Trivia: Despite their sinister character, Felinards in a pack enjoy playing their own, complicated version of hide-and-seek.

Character: Often disregarded because of their bird size and rather harmless look, a Flamun actually is a threat. A They attack only in a flock, and there is no stopping them, and their mastery at using the element of fire may make the encounter a lethal one.
Trivia: Flamun’s eagerness to frolic is irrepressible, but once taken by joy, they barely control their fire and can do a lot of unwanted damage.

Character: Stemming from the Shadow Realm, Grundies are the fastest in the mystling world, which together with their inborn grace and the ability to make lengthy jumps, makes them ready to take on every enemy. Their biggest flaw is their haughtiness and unwavering trust in their beaks and sharp feathers.
Trivia: Sleep is every Grundy’s favorite type of entertainment. A Grundy wakes up to fight or practice and goes to sleep whenever they are done, being able to sleep on for days.

Character: Despite its cheerful attitude, the Pranceling may use dancing and singing to attract wanderers closer to mess with their minds. Capricious and unpredictable, they may lose their interest in a second and vanish in the underbrush.
Trivia: A popular legend has it that they sleep inside moss-covered caves or even gigantic flowers. Also, they seem to hate storm and any time one breaks out, they shriek with panic.

Character: Reeftiles are said to be the enemies of mankind, and especially sailors, as they erect coral reefs in random places. In truth, they only want to isolate a territory for their offspring. Besides, many seamen admit that a Reeftile led them to safety in a storm.
Trivia: Reeftile do enjoy storms. Even the land-living ones completely lose their minds when thunders begin to clap and break into a wild, incontrollable dance. No tamer may snap them out of it.

Character: Tidos spend most of their time moving, frolicking in the sea, or running on the beach or rocks. They are not scared of people, but so scatter-minded that it is difficult to draw their attention long enough to tame them. Only far away from the flock do they sober up and bond with tamers.
Trivia: Tidos may be much more intelligent than other mystling species. Solitary ones often draw strange geometrical symbols on sandy beaches and protect them until the tide claims them.

Character: In its mature form, a Tido Drosera becomes a solitary, dreamlike being, often compared to a flower or a butterfly. Seemingly inactive, it is fed by its tail which collect the food on its own accord, but it immediately snaps out of the lethargy upon seeing a potential enemy and becomes a lethal opponent.
Trivia: There is a belief that Tido Droseras do not lose their interest in strange geometrical symbols, but think about them all their mature life which occupies them to the point of seeming listless.

Character: In its mature form, a Tido becomes a half-dormant, slow-moving creature, and only its processes stretch toward the sun. For this reason, Tidos do not enjoy shady places and even overcast sky. However, should the need arise, an adult Tido may spring to action as fast as lightning.
Trivia: Mature Tidos inherit their penchant for strange geometrical symbols, but they prefer to draw them in solid rock. Some even insist on protecting them which renders them untameable.

Character: The Renewed Frogmar’s unpredictable nature makes it a difficult companion, but according to a theory, they follow people in hope that someone would organize their chaotic behavior. Usually, they spend their time among hot springs and lava pools.
Trivia: The Renewed Frogmar convene on some nights to perform a complicated dance illuminated by their outbursts. The point of the dance is not clear, but it may have a connection with the star alignment.

Character: Born and raised in the sea, Verendas are born pilgrims and often bond with humans or fae to travel together away from the shores and learn more. Solitary by nature, they quickly learn how to fight back, and their fighting technique so far escapes anyone’s understanding.
Trivia: Verendas have developed a unique ability to hypnotize shoals of fish and make them dance in beautiful patterns.

Character: The Wildfreyrs are vengeful creatures and they often use their tree-based skills to defend their territories. They wage long wars with Elkthorns, interrupted with truces and pacts, and their unique, inexplicable code of communication allows them to sometimes join ranks against human settlers.
Trivia: Wildfreyr have a wide range of shrieks and howls at their disposal, which makes them responsible for many stories about haunted forests.

Character: Lightning-throwing Yalices are as mad as the storm, and there is no pattern in their behavior. The older they get, the more erratic they become. However, they are not hostile or vindictive—to them everything is a part of their strange, chaotic game.
Trivia: Taming a Yalice is a hard, time-consuming process since the tamer must patiently alleviate and sort out the chaos inside the mystling’s mind.

Character: Being able to dive and fly, the Crestan family pods are known to chase ships and boats away from their territories, shrieking shrilly and damaging their hulls. Although rather not aggressive toward people, they have at times pulled a person into the water.
Trivia: Crestans are curious creatures and keep searching for objects they deem valuable. According to sea legends, every pod has its stash, and at times, pods of Crestans wage wars over it.

Character: Larfaces, mystlings from the Shadow Realm, do not exhibit any feelings, and they work with the tamer only for food and the ability to travel together. However, they are able to read the emotions of others which makes Larfaces difficult opponents. Their soft spot is their sensitivity to noise.
Trivia: Larfaces are a migratory species–be it separately or in groups, they remain constantly on the move. Some believe that their destination is a legendary land of absolute silence.

Young Skyling:
Character: Curious and light-hearted, young Skylings often play with other mystlings or even children, but when they learn to fly, they begin to look for territory and a series of failures may make them easily irritable. Also, they consider every larger being a potential threat and will try to harm them, sometimes in a devious manner.
Trivia: Young Skylings are musically gifted and their melodious tunes go on for hours. What is more, Young Skylings often compete as to whose music is better and need other Skylings to choose the winner.
Skyling:
Character: Adult Skylings near the ground only to hunt. Their attacks are unexpected and fast, and their victims are lifted up to the clouds and never seen again. Many tamers believe that they sleep floating in the sky, especially that they are able to create and control tornadoes to protect their territories.
Trivia: Adult Skylings lose the ability to sing, and perhaps this is why they are easily enchanted by other music-making creatures, even humans.

Young Durkarion:
Character: The Young Durkarion is the most annoying mystling of metal as they are able to freeze in the air and watch their prey for hours, all the time emitting shrill sound that does not let anyone concentrate. As good observers, they always learn where the weakest spot to strike is.
Trivia: Young Durkarions are known for their voracity, which may sometimes take them out of action. Upon the smell of food, a Young Durkarion loses its focus and with a full stomach, it presents a much lower threat.
Durkarion:
Character: A Durkarion, armed with a ghastly array of spikes and talons, can break through any guard, and his double tail has a tremendous range. Easily blending with clouds, the mystling can hover in the sky for hours, waiting for the right moment to dive and attack.
Trivia: Some tamers have sworn to be the first to tame which is is criticised by others as Durkarions are believed to be too vicious to tame.

Stretch Goals Spotlight

Character: Little is known of Cindaras. Their fire‑playing caused conflicts with humans, leading to expulsion. Now small bands survive in frigid regions. Scarred by history, they distrust humans and are untameable.
Trivia: Fast and agile, Cindaras fear no foe. Their tight family bonds mean they rarely fight alone. They mourn fallen kin with eerie howls and become especially vicious during that period.

Character:
Out of all the mystlings from the metal family, the Glaugs are probably the most sinister due to their uncanny ability to spin sticky cobwebs that paralyze their opponents and leech life out of them. Cold and calculating, they are experts at setting ambushes and try to abstain from fighting until the moment their victory is sure. Hated by tamers and feared by their mystlings, not a single Glaug has ever been tamed.
Trivia:
Tamers who have won a fight against a Glaug, tend to chop off a nail and wear it around their necks so as to encourage the others to continue the war against them.

Character:
Nobody has ever presented any credible explanation of how Shardatons function and move. Slow, yet immensely strong and able to smash any obstacle in their way, Shardatons roam battlefields like wraiths. No mystling may feel safe within the reach of their clawed arms, but since they are rather slow, there is always a chance to jump away and attack from another angle.
Trivia:
The Shardatons share a weird ritual. Once two of them met, they freeze facing one another and stay like this for hours as if they were having a soundlessconversation. Interrupted during the exchange, they unleash shocking fury.

Character:
Although made of water, all the young Ebbie seem to be able to do everything to leave it. Life on the ground seems to be extremely attractive to them, but due to their inexperience and clumsiness, they can put up a crazy show. Still, when threatened, they turn into fierce warriors, but it has been noticed that on land they fight better than in their home element.
Trivia:
The older a Ebbie gets, the more it yearns for the sea, and some of them decide to break the bond with the tamer and return to the sea. Still, they miss the bond and haunt the coast with their sad howling.

Character:
Fast, agile and cunning, each Bleatchie loves to compete which sometimes ends in chaos. When a herd of Bleatchies appears, an insane competition begins with the mystlings running to and fro, jumping, rolling down slops and head-butting. The only way to put an end to it is dispersing the herd.
Trivia:
Before a Bleatchlie creates a bond with a tamer, it will put them to a series of typical Bleatchie challenges like running, jumping and sometimes, unfortunately, head-butting.

Character:
Demalgors come with the storm. Despite their lack of wings, they have learned to use strong currents of air to move, storms and blizzards being their favorite. They shrill cries are often the last warning for mountain villages, as the Demalgors are ruthless predators that have razed many a settlement.
Trivia:
Two heads of the creature seem to be in constant conflict, competing for food and water.

Character:
Despite their amusing appearance, the Glimpuff is a serious mystling, focused on creating rather than playing. Able to condense the power of the sun, they creatively experiment with metal, stone, and leather, and defend even the least shapely ones with grim determination.
Trivia:
The Glimpuffs deem some creations better than others and trade with one another. They are also known to steal tools for rival Glimpuffs…

Dragon Eclipse Core Box

Character: It is unclear if this mythical creature even exists. Some researchers associate Artios with motherly attributes, others with deep sadness. No one knows the origins of those ideas, though.
Trivia: Unknown.

Character: Like fire and water, Blazereefs can be calm, raging, or completely focused on a task. Their emotions are constantly changing.
Trivia: Engineers dream of a Blazereef helper so that they can utilize its ability to produce steam in their inventions.

Character: Chrysomallons live in tight-knit underground communities, spending most of their time loafing around. However, when threatened, they make use of their clawed arms to quickly move around and teach their foes a lesson.
Trivia: A Chrysomallon’s armor is made up of iron plates which are hot to the touch – the mystlings' innards have the temperature of magma. On hot days, you may find Chrysomallons on the surface, basking in sunlight.

Character: No human has ever seen a Darktailen, but there are some vague stories about cruel beasts prowling in the shadows, the sharp tips of many tails prepared to pierce weak flesh.
Trivia: Unknown.

Character: Eldrithias can be described as curious, intrusive, and reckless. These creatures are extremely rare, but each time someone encounters them, they are in trouble because of their rash actions.
Trivia: The first text describing an Eldrithia comes from two hundred years ago. It's the only species that doesn't appear in older sources.

Character: Elkthorns are territorial creatures, claiming dark groves and hollows. In their unquenchable rage, they fall trees and attack trespassers without mercy.
Trivia: When a tamer proves to an Elkthorn that they are stronger, Elkthorn can become an obedient companion in its strive for power.

Character: Furwings seek action, but they get bored easily. This makes them swift and dire predators, but if you manage to escape their first assault, you are probably safe.
Trivia: Flying costs them lots of energy, and you can often find them resting in grottos.

Character: Glarexes are stoic and lofty, ignoring the outside world, as they don't need feed. If anything disrupts their meditative peace, they will try to quickly destroy such an obstacle.
Trivia: Glarexes can somehow turn light into a solid substance, making it their greatest weapon and armor at the same time. It is also said that a Glarexus may appear before a dead person to guide their soul into a new body.

Character: Golomos keep to their tight communities, avoiding contact with humans or other creatures.
Trivia: Threatened Golomos can go on a rampage, attacking everything in sight and causing small-scale earthquakes.

Character: When a Luminesca grows and enters its matured era, it dedicates itself to a single purpose, whatever it might be. It could be training with a tamer, hunting dark creatures, bringing laughter to a tiny village, or really anything else.
Trivia: Some Luminescas involuntarily make lairs on top of lighthouses, their inner light guiding sailors through the night.

Character: Small and silent, Prowlers stalk forests, hunt tiny animals, and gather berries and nuts. Their cozy nests are well hidden in tree hollows, where they sleep during the daytime.
Trivia: Tamers have received many requests to domesticate a Prowler. Most of them refused because of ethical reasons, but some tried. And all failed miserably as the Prowlers are too proud and dangerous to get along with human families.

Character: Regalians are fiddle-footed but curious. They are drawn to human cities and approach them only to flee for no particular reason and come back the next day. They try to make friends with other mystlings and even animals but escape at a hint of confrontation.
Trivia: People call Regalians queens and kings of the forests, admiring their regal aura and elegant figures. They are muses for many artists, subjects of conversation when they appear near human dwellings, and target for poachers who crave their shimmering plumage.

Character: Maliciousness and nastiness grow along with Firples. When they reach their Renewed forms, they are feared even more – they are not only mean, but also strong. And dangerous.
Trivia: The collective noun for Firpless commanded by an Renewed one is malice. In reference to a few of them, one says the malice of Firples. In other regions, they are also called the nastiness of Pinequicks and cruelty of Pulpins.

Character: Always hungry, they lurk among clouds or deep in the ocean, seeking a suitable host. They use their sharp, lamprey-like teeth to cling to their prey.
Trivia: After some time, Sirens detach from their hosts to rest and seek other prey. What's strange, many hosts don't even try to get rid of Sirens – there are speculations that Sirens inject them with tranquilizers or substances that soothe pain. No tamer, however, has ever managed to extract such a substance from a tamed Siren.

Character: Unknown
Trivia: No one alive has ever heard about Umbra. The dark, saurian mystling doesn't even appear in stories or legends.

Character: Vogandrs feed on the emotions and feelings of other creatures. They accommodate traits of their current meal, so it's difficult to tell their true nature.
Trivia: The water creatures, if appropriately trained, may alleviate pain and help with treating complex emotional and physical states.

Character: Windraisers are easily scared by loud noises and the effects of their own attacks.
Trivia: Windraisers could be one of the most powerful air creatures if not for their biggest enemy – fear. Only the best tamers can train them so that a Windraiser can reach its full potential.

Character: Young Bolbs cherish boredom and laziness and make use of those traits by mastering the art of camouflage and traps.
Trivia: You may encounter Young Bolbs outside the bogs or overgrown lakes, but such events are rare. Those creatures leave their habitat only if they go hungry for at least two weeks.

Character: Young Gaiadons are observant and easily irritated. If someone agitates them, they will spend a long time seeking weaknesses and advantages and then crush their enemy mercilessly.
Trivia: Each Young Gaiadon is born inside the tree, and it carries the spirit of the tree with them during its whole life.

Character: Young Icelings are predominantly reclusive creatures, but some of them cultivate curiosity that springs in their hearts.
Trivia: Individuals who leave the snowy mountaintops are one of the bravest and most outgoing creatures.

Character: Young Shadeclaws are rare creatures keeping to the underground. There aren't many texts describing them, but they all have one thing in common: Shadeclaws are elusive and flee from humans.
Trivia: There is a story about a tamer who tamed a Young Shadeclaw. The creature was supposedly really kind and friendly, but no one takes the story seriously.

Character: Swift and merciless, Young Alukahs are widely feared. They hunt both during the day and the night, resting only at dusk and dawn. Their unquenchable hunger often forces them to migrate, especially when their hunting grounds dry up.
Trivia: Young Alukahs can smell blood and sweat from a long distance, making hiding a hopeless idea. When you meet an Young Alukah, you have no choice but to flee or fight, but remember that fleeing is almost as tricky as hiding, as they are excellent fliers.

Character: When you see an Emberling with its younger sibling, you can't help but smile. The energy between the two, their visible love and slowly forming understanding can warm up the coldest of hearts.
Trivia: When an Emberling's sibling reaches adulthood, both mystlings go their separate ways to find mates and bring new Emberlings into the world. When they fulfill their duty, they seek themselves again to get old and die together.

Character: Drosithias are timid and helpful by nature, but their situation forced them into a more shy approach.
Trivia: For an unknown reason, Dragon Guardians hunt Drosithias, pushing the species to the very edge of extinction.

Character: Eftuses don't mind others as long as they allow them to do their incomprehensible activities. They ignore other mystlings, they ignore tamers, and only react if something physically harms them.
Trivia: It is said that a band of Eftuses captured a pirate ship once and they have been sailing choppy waters since then.

Character: Fales are friendly and adorable. They like to splash in shallow waters, stroll on beaches on their short legs, and dive together with other creatures.
Trivia: Despite their look, Fales can be trained to fight. They can be fierce protectors and helpers – and they do love competition.

Character: Many people mistake it for a desire for blood, but Flittersparks are just friendly if little nosy creatures who want to sniff and touch everyone in sight. Their fiery appearance doesn't help in making friends.
Trivia: Despite their appearance resembling a bat, their hearing is ordinary at best. However, they are proud of their excellent sight.

Character: Energetic and temperamental, Frogmars are known for their vengeful nature. Cross a Frogmar, and it won't rest until you've learned the meaning of pain.
Trivia: Frogmars like humans and other mystlings, but they are often shunned because others are afraid of their anger outbursts.

Character: With the lack of acceptance from their previous peers, Renewed Golomos turn into bitter loners. With a grimace on their faces, they search the lands for a place where they can feel at home.
Trivia: A tamer, who can see a Renewed Golomo as an individual mystling and not a part of the Golomo species, can easily gain the Renewed Golomo trust and dedication.

Character: Despite their deadly abilities, Sylphidrons avoid violence when they can, making use of their ability to go invisible. Nevertheless, when needed, they can become deadly fighters who want to finish a fight in a single blow.
Trivia: Sylphidrons cubs don't control their ability to turn invisible, which makes a tough time for their parents, who wish for nothing but the safety of their offspring.
