DARKER TIMES: Fallen Knights - A DnD 5e Zine

Hi! I’m Erik, a creator, writer and longtime lover of roleplaying games. I’m also one of the two nerds behind Midnight Tower, an indie publisher of 5e adventures. 
We’ve released 12 books since 2019, but this is my third Kickstarter for a zine!

I’m hoping to raise funds for Fallen Knights, the third issue of Darker Times – a zine for 5e filled with ideas, encounters, rumours and more to make your games more dangerous and fun!

This 16-page zine will be available in print and as a PDF. 

Fallen Knights is dedicated to paladins and valorous warriors who fall from grace and plunge into darkness. The zine includes:
➛ Different reasons for breaking an oath that give dark paladins depth and nuance
➛ Blades of the Damned - examples of magic longswords wielded by oathbreakers
➛ Dining with the Dead - a dangerous encounter with a death knight in their final resting place
➛ A morally grey villain and quest giver who might help or hinder the characters
➛ A serialised short story with an adventuring party on a mysterious treasure hunt

The zine is complete and will be sent out shortly after the Kickstarter ends! 
I handle all the packing and posting myself, so there are few dependencies. Here below is how it looks when I’m packing the Zine Club for the first issue! :)

All the art in the zine is made by humans and includes plenty of hand-drawn, painted and inked illustrations by Tove of Midnight Tower. 

I’ve been playing roleplaying games my whole life and rolled my first character in the summer of 1982. While my unfortunate cleric was short-lived (never mess with crab-like demons!), I was forever hooked.

As part of Midnight Tower, I’ve been involved in the making and publication of five trilogies, six mysteries, and one campaign guide – and there’s much more on its way.

I live with my partner in the UK, and I have a soft spot for cats (all animals, to be honest), heavy metal, thick books, and very strong coffee. 

This zine is my side quest in which I’ll share ideas for how to make playing and running adventures as fun as possible. As you’ll find, this often means making them daring and dangerous, because high stakes make for awesome adventures.

I’m handling all the fulfilment myself, from sending out the PDFs to packing and posting the printed zines from my home. This makes fulfilment quick and keeps the cost down. :)

Shipping for the printed zine will be collected after the Kickstarter. 
There are no additional shipping costs for digital rewards.
